Originally from the Pittsburgh area, Mark came to Charlottesville in 1974 to attend the University of Virginia.  Upon graduation he was commissioned in to the United States Army in 1978.  Having served in numerous assignments around the world as an army helicopter pilot, Mark retired as a Lieutenant Colonel to Charlottesville in 1998.  After building his own home with the help of his family, Mark started a Class A hardscaping business in 2001 and became co-owner of TimberStone in 2007.  He has been a member of the Stony Point Volunteer Fire Company since 2001 where he is a fire fighter and EMT. Mark enjoys spending time with his wife, high school sweetheart, Janet, and their two children and five grand children.  Mark’s other interests include woodworking, gardening, and building various projects around his home.
